Good News & Summer Project

Hello all,

I'm still alive. I've been so caught up with work and school that I haven't had much time to update my blog as well as edit films to upload on my youtube channel. While taking a nap today, I had a dream that Michelle Phan gave me her password to her youtube account and personally asked me to upload her film for her. Oh! I almost forgot... she also asked me to watch over her house. This must mean I need to upload more videos and I think too much about youtube and makeup. Every time I go to work, I'm always fantasizing about that Canon T4i camera on display. Oh how great it would be if I my tutorials had better quality and the easiness of recording. *sigh*. Someday... someday. I've been using my sister's point and shoot panasonic digital camera to film my tutorials and it's so hard because I'm always having trouble staying within the frame.

ANYWAY...
On to the GOOD NEWS! I finally received my circle lens from MapleLens.com and will be doing a giveaway!!!!!!! I also have a discount code for my viewers and readers. "duzongyang" for 15% off your entire purchase!

Another good news: My summer project. I am the makeup artist for an independent movie this summer. I'm doing this for free because I want to network and build up my resume in the beauty community. Practice makes perfect! I'm also in charged of hair too. So far, I've dyed, cut, trimmed, and styled hair. I'm not a hair guru or hair pro nor have I had any official training whatsoever. You probably won't be seeing me do any hair tutorials on my channel. For some reason, I suck at curling my own hair but I'm pretty decent at curling other people's hair.
The movie will be coming out next summer. When the trailer is released, I will post it on my blog. I can't say anything more about this project. It's classified information.

Current FAVORITE Foundation

I'm loving my CoverGirl Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 foundation! It covers my ugly pores as if I had prepped my face with primer already. It makes my skin flawless and airbrushed-like. The only downside to it is that it's a matte finish and is medium to full coverage. I prefer dewy finishes because I have normal to dry skin and I don't really need a lot of coverage since I don't have a lot of acne or acne scars. I just have ugly pores on my nose and cheeks.
I only use this foundation all over my face and neck when I go out for special occasions, otherwise, I use it mainly as a concealer (around the nose and under eye circles).

Here's a recent picture of me in full makeup:

I've gotten a lot of requests to do a tutorial on this look as well so keep an eye out for that on my youtube channel: Duzong's YT Channel.

Smokey with A Touch of Glitter!

I'm back with a new tutorial! Well, it's not really new but it's newly uploaded! I actually filmed this tutorial back in April of '12 but I just didn't have time to edit it.

I am wearing Geo Tri-color lens in Green.

I didn't have glitter adhesive at the time so I used lash glue (dark) and yes, it does feel a bit uncomfortable BUT you'll get used to the feeling after a few shots (if you're over 21) otherwise, just enjoy the night and you'll forget about it. I mean, it's definitely a lot better than having glitter fall-outs throughout the night.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video!

"WTF?" Shopping Edition 1

The other day my sister and I were at Target to pick up some prescription pills and decided to head to the Health and Beauty isle first. After browsing through the clearance bin, I came across this:

Apparently, it's a large angled liner brush...for your EYES! See how large it is compared next to my thumb? I think it's cool that the industry wants to make it more simple for people but really? The bristle are firm so that's good. Here's a photo of my sister comparing the brush next to her eyes:
*She does not have "chinky" eyes.
Has anyone ever tried using this brush as an eyeliner??

Anyway, since we're talking about Sonia Kashuk's line here, I just wanted to show you all my FAVORITE eyelashes of all time:

$4.99 but SOOO worth it! <3 <3 <3

Let me know if anyone knows a cheaper dupe for these lashes!

The Eve Pearl Method Contest

Earlier this week, I submitted my Eve Pearl Method Contest entry tutorial. The deadline to upload as a respond on Eve Pealr's Youtube was 7/15. Her rules were to use the Eve Pearl method (foundation, eye, contour, etc...) in your tutorial  and include a before and after photo. Pretty simple right? Wrong!

It was my first time using her method even though I've been watching her videos for over a year now. She makes it look so easy but it actually isn't especially if it's your first attempt. I really do like her reverse contour foundation application. If I win the grand prize, I'll definitely give some of her products away to my viewers. I wish the best of luck to all those who entered.

*Yeah, I look horrible in the before photo but who doesn't? Everyone has natural beauty. Makeup only enhances it. I used to be afraid of showing my bare, makeup-less face but I don't care anymore...kind of. Haha.

To watch me create this soft smokey eye look using Eve Pearls method, click on this video or head on over to my youtube channel. Please feel free to subscribe for more videos!
